    UK Football Singing Billboard

There is a new billboard marketing campaign in Louisville and Lexington that includes billboards playing the UK fight song. The broadcasts can be heard up to a mile away from the billboard when tuned to the correct radio frequency. However, the marketing agency is not publicizing the frequency. In their release, they write "what separates this singing billboard campaign from others – is that we are relying completely on their fanatic fan base – not advertising. The only place you’ll find the radio frequency is through on-line contact and chat rooms."

Per UK Associate Athletics Director Jason Schlafer "There’s only one board that has the song’s closing line – Bring Home The Victory - and I can’t say where our fans can find it. But trust me, they will!”

Anyone have any idea what the frequencies are in Louisville and Lexington? And where the closing line billboard is located?

Is the last board going to be at Commonwealth Stadium?

  3. Coach Cal tweeted that it's 1630AM for the one in Lexington back in June.

UK turns up volume on billboard effort

If you've driven Kentucky's highways, you might have seen the University of Kentucky's football marketing campaigns on billboards all across the commonwealth.

Now UK wants you to hear its football enthusiasm.

The university has launched a "singing" billboard campaign that will allow passers by to hear the Wildcats' fight song when they drive or walk near a billboard with a radio tuned to a specific station. A radio transmitter on the boards allows the song to be heard up to a mile away.

In Louisville, the fight song plays on 1640-AM. In Lexington, it's on 1630-AM.

UK has used a statewide billboard campaign before, but adding audio is a new touch.

"The visuals were great, but nothing gets the juices flowing for football like the fight song," UK assistant athletics director Jason Schlafer said in a university release.

The billboards in the current campaign each feature a line from the UK fight song.

I listened to the fight song all the way home from work today. Grinning like a goof riding down the highway. I was surprised it kept playing.

I laughed because when I had read about these billboards, I had started smiling -- just thinking about hearing that fight song's blaring out on the radio and how I would react (MOST enthusiastically ). Yes, POEKLM, I would have been doing exactly the same thing.
