I'd say the MVP was the improved play of our D line in the second half.
GO CATS!!!
Go Cats!
MVP was The Kentucky Defense..they brought it on in the second half

Glad to see you happy Melvin!![]()
I give it to Maxwell.
All is forgiven, Melvin. I think we all shared some of your frustration -- but, oh how GREAT it is right now!!!

Maxwell had a Woodyard-esque performance.

Special teams play opened the door and D really stepped it up. Big big win.
I can safely say we all should be happy for our boys in Blue right now
they did not play well in the first half but by God they brought it on in the second half
they did what it took to WIN this game
BE HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A win is a win. Miss. St. is not as good as UK but they got credit for the victory against us. This was the same, only the results were in our favor. Go Cats!
I'm glad you are happy I Melvin, I really am.
I do have a favor to ask though. Please don't freak out over a first half again. "Nothing matters less than the score at halftime." - Bear Bryant.
The most important part of the game is the beginning through the next 6 minutes or so of the third, and after that turnover on the kickoff, one just had to know that we were in it.

Nice post and excellent advice, johnkyblue.![]()
Too, I. Melvin, I saw the other thread but did not even open the link. Reading the other title, I feel sure that I like this one A LOT better.![]()
Having said that, I, too, had surely been disappointed UNTIL that inspired play johnkyblue just mentioned. After halftime, though, the REAL Wildcats showed up, something that seems to happen a lot after this coaching staff talks with them at halftime. :icon_biggrin:
While it'sto the rest of the post, that "MVP" comment is not giving credit to OUR players who obviously affected our opponents' performance in the second half (and don't you think that comment just might be a little unfair to them after they had likely been earlier criticized for their first-half performance?
). The MVP is always selected from the winning team, of course, and our players were all WINNERS after that game, regardless of their performance in the first half. I'm PROUD of them, and I want NOTHING taken away from the credit they deserve.
Having said that, isn't it wonderful to be HAPPY as a fanbase! :icon_biggrin: I'm STILL smiling. :icon_biggrin: GO CATS! BEAT THE VOLS!

what ??
that statement makes it sound like you think we got lucky or something. please tell me you don't think we were lucky to win that game.
we completely with a capital C...outplayed them in the second half. COMPLETELY !!! no luck man....that was domination on both sides of the ball.
I have learned over the years of watching a lot of football is that if a team can stay with in 14 points, no matter how badly they look, still has a shot at winning. I have seen many times over the years someone just hang around like that and pull it out in the 4th qtr. UK did it last year against Arkansas and now this season against UGA. It has happened more than once, in the past, to UK when they have been unable to put a team away. It seems that once a team gets to that 17 point barrier it becomes much tougher to come back. But stay within 14 and you give yourself a chance.
