Thread: the lineup change

  1. the lineup change

whatcha think? Keep it? I would probably switch it up to Wall, Dodson, Liggins, myself.

  2. I don't think Bledsoe likes coming off the bench very much. He didn't seem to be as inspired...and I think all the missed free throws were a result of a lack of focus.

I think Darnell DID respond well.

    Miller had another disappointing game.

Maybe it's time to go with Wall, Bledsoe, Dodson, Patterson and Cousins....with Miller off the bench.

I think Coach was pretty clear early on, you practice hard, you start....aint reading into it, but DeAndre did play a dang good game. If he brings it in practice like he did in the game, kinda hard to see him playing from the bench

  4. I thought it gave us more consistent guard play. I guess I should say I don't really know WHY Bledsoe didn't start..but I thought the lineup helped. I'm assuming its coaches way of getting them less minutes and keeping a PG in the game.

I don't think Liggins can be held back much longer, even though he seems to be extremely happy doing what he's doing.

The #3 spot is in question. I like Liggins coming off the bench because he provides some positive energy. Miller or Dodson would be my starter. Dodson had a great game today but he has had some Hoodini acts as well as Miller.

When Miller hits his first shot or two, he plays great; when he misses his first few, he plays scared.

Bledsoe has been solid at #2. Perhaps not in practice. He just was poor from the charity stripe today.

  6. I very much liked the lineup change. So long and so hard to score on. Also hard to outrebound a lineup that goes 6'4", 6'7", 6'7", 6'9" and 6'11".

I love me some Bledsoe, but give me the length, D and rebounding all day, with no dropoff in shooting to boot. Loved it.

I like Liggins coming off the bench
    Kentucky Wildcats....2012 NCAA Champions

  9. Love the hustle and diving for the ball Liggins has been doing
recently, he is fast becomming one of my favorites this year.

I always had a sense of him being capable of playing even when he acted abrupt......... you could just see the upside but wondered if he would ever harness it were he could play at a high level and he has answered that. Def showing he is bringing his game. i also noticed he seems to be playing much more relaxed and mature.

  11. IMO Miller should not be starting, may give him so motivation to bring him off the bench
I support: UK Wildcats, Bengals, Reds, and Pistons

Can't stand: U of L, Duke, Florida, Steelers, Browns, Ravens, Pats, Cubs, Pirates, Yankees, and Spurs

I do too and he is becoming one of my favorites...I can't say enough about his hustle and effort

  13. Maybe Cal was expecting a zone defense and he wanted Miller and Dodson in. Could also have been about matching up on the defensive end.
I came into this life with nothing and I still have most of it!

  14. I liked this lineup, I would definitely start Dodson over Miller. To Miller is just too immature to start. If Miller miss`es his 1st shot he`s done for the night because he lets it effect him too much...................Rocky

Now that we got the loss out of the way the don't mess with what is working line can go and coach seemed to agree. I loved Dodson in the lineup, like another poster said though, I think he needs to replace miller.

  16. Seemed to work...but I'm not sure what the effect will be on Bledsoe. Kid was terrible from the line yesterday.

I agree that he should not start. I don't know that it's motivation versus missing his confidence. Not starting may take the pressure of Derrick and allow him to relax a little, and I would start Liggins over Dodson ... I can not get enough of Liggins' hustle on the floor.

  18. It is true that the way Liggins plays is much more suited to a "bench" players role..but when everyone and 3 waterboys were in foul trouble during the first half, he stepped up and kept the team and game steady. Thats a mature player.

I can't imagine that someone as tough as Bledsoe would be messed up by not starting. In fact, with someone like him, you'd think he would be even hungrier to do well.

And I thought he did do pretty well, apart from the free throw ordeal.

    13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists--that's a pretty darn solid game.

Personally love having Bled in the starting lineup. Gives us essentially two point guards who love to drive and dish. Dodson, though, has proven that he has what it takes to start at the 3.
