Thread: UK fans Most Hated Cats

  1. UK fans Most Hated Cats

Meant to do something like this closer to the Villans game, but....
Are there any former Cats that fans hated? or came to hate? ( Let's leave former coaches outta this...BCG would get this hands down) Could be after their career at UK,maybe they dissed UK, transfered, ect....
I don't know whom to even start with...Don't recall Marvin Stone's ordeal, Parker? I do seem to recall that DRhodes was 'pushed" off by RP, so that would be on Ricky in my book. Anyone got a name or three?

I wasnt a big fan of Porter. Not sure why, but it seemed as if he always turned the ball over. That was part of BCG's lack of willing to play him, so I guess my standards were set a little high (expected him to play and do well).

Randolph Morris? Leaving early and causing all those problems... still good player but bad decisions. Orton in same group. Gotta play with pride for UK. (Now i know its for Cal, rather than playing at Lexington with the legends throughout the program).

    Tough question.

They say you forget your troubles in a stream, but that's not quite it. What happens is that you begin to see where your troubles fit into the grand scheme of things, and suddenly they're just not such a big deal anymore.- Butch Adams

    Ed Davender,,, couldn't stand him......................

  7. I think Mike Ballenger might hold that distinction. He came to UK, stayed one year, had an overinflated sense of self-worth to the team, then transferred to Western due to lack of playing time. I knew him at WKU, and he was an arrogant one, to say the least. He coached my sorority's basketball team which I played on and was EJECTED for arguing with the referees. Yeah, he was quite the tool.

I also think Cat fans came to dislike that big kid whose Daddy was always getting into the press and making bad comments about Tubby, and foolishly saying how his kid was like the 2nd coming of Larry Bird. Michael, something... The kid transferred, I think to the Big Least Conference somewhere, and never did much in the pros. As you can see, not one of my favorites either. Argh! Can't think of his last name, but I know someone will post it in 2 seconds or so...

Michael Bradley I think his name was. Was good at scoring close to the basket. But agree he seemed to have an overinflated sense of self worth.

Gimel Martinez was the player I just coulndt seem to get to like. Cant say i hate any of them but some have darn sure been harder to like.
fan from cradle to the grave! Championships is what I crave!

  9. Mike Bradley

I am pretty sure you are talking about Mike Bradley. As I recall, had a very high shooting percentage - led the SEC. Went on the Villanova, then the pros.

I am still pissed off at Rhodes in regards to the 95 UNC-UK game.

Guys that have frustrated me and made me throw a few things but not close to hate. Most were during the Tubby years.

    Gimel Martinez
    AJ Stewart
    Rashad Carruth
    Randolph Morris
    Jared Carter
    Sheray Thomas
    Josh Carrier
    Antwain Barbour

  13. Gimel Martinez wasn't a very friendly fellow, but I would never hate any former CAT!!! If they had enough sense to chose the University of Kentucky, they had to have some redeeming qualities!!

  15. Thanks KyBlueBilly and chaplain, yep, Michael Bradley. Just to be sure no one believed his Daddy's hype, here is is recap from Wikipedia:

After his sophomore season at Kentucky, Bradley transferred to Villanova University where he started. That season he averaged 20.8 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game.

Even though he had one year of college eligibility remaining, Bradley left school to go to the NBA in 2001 and was selected as the 17th pick in the 1st round of the NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors. During his rookie season, Bradley averaged 1.2 points per game and 0.9 rebounds per game.

His statistics improved in 2002-03 (5 ppg and 6 rpg in 20 minutes), but in the following season was sidelined constantly for a bruised right clavicle. He was let go by the Raptors in March 2004, and would later be signed by the Atlanta Hawks. In 2004-05 he started off with the Orlando Magic, but was traded twice during that season, to the Sacramento Kings and the Philadelphia 76ers. Played 46 games with the Sixers in 2005-06, his best in two years, mainly because of constant injuries to Chris Webber.

In the 2006-07 season he signed for Bruesa GBC in the Spanish ACB.[1] After spending one season with the Spanish team, Bradley moved to Germany and signed with ALBA Berlin in August[2] but was released in November.[3] He did not stay unemployed for long, signing with Lithuanian power Žalgiris on November 15.[4] However, he was limited by injuries, averaging only 7 points and 4.9 rebounds in seven games, and became expendable when Žalgiris signed Mamadou N'Diaye in February 2008. Bradley was waived on February 12, 2008.
Four NBA seasons with six teams. Hardly the 2nd coming of anybody. I just never cared for that whole situation. I often wished Michael to stand up to his Dad and ask him to step off. His Dad was alot like Lindsey Lohan's Dad, just wanted the spotlight for himself and was sure he knew more than EVERYONE else.

He may have got the kid that draft position, but there was certainly no proof in the pudding.

Rashaad Carruth should go on that highly disliked list for sure. He was the original instigator of Team Turmoil. But I tell ya one thing, the kid could ball. But he may have had the worst attitude in Kentucky Basketball History.

  17. Demarcus Cousins. Couldn't stand him. I still don't like him.

Daniel Orton was a close second.
