UK/UL Game Time and TV Set

I didn't see this posted anywhere yet. The UK/UL game is set for Sunday, September 2 at 3:30 pm. It will televised by ESPN. Going to be a hot one. Also if UK keeps kicking players off the team they may not be anyone else left to play this game.

I'm always glad when this game is played first, on Labor Day weekend.

The series was started my freshman year at UK and it always seemed like the perfect way to kick off the season. I wish the UK powers that be would go back to scheduling it Labor Day weekend too, but until that happens, I will be thankful to Louisville for keeping it in the traditional spot.

  3. I wish they'd go back to having it as the season opener as well. I can't get into an opening game on Labor Day weekend between the Cats and the Appalachiacola State Jackrabbits. It's (the season opener) a lot more interesting when it's between UK and U of L - and I hate that I have to agree with Tom Jurich on something.

I would prefer Saturday as well, but the Saturday date would have resulted in local teevee only, apparently.

just too much else going on that weekend..we have a summer home on the river and on Sunday we all get together and have a huge cook-out...Contests for the kids..sack races..egg throwing contests..volleyball...and it seems no one gets interested in the football game
I wouldn't mind if the game were on Saturday

Our egg throwing contests span an entire weekend.............................none of this one-day Sunday stuff.

  10. I have this nagging feeling that it will be the only UK game I watch this season.

    Oh ye of little faith.

I think this could wind up being a half-decent season. A lot hinges on that Louisville game though - like every year.

Win that one, then take care of business against Kent and WKU and you're already halfway to being bowl eligible. Then you just have to pick up home wins against Vandy, Mississippi State and Samford to get to six. Plus, Tennessee is the last game of the year and Dooley could be fired and the whole team in shambles by that point, which could lead to seven wins. Add one more SEC upset and UK could get to eight - and that would be a good year.

Now, that's probably the (realistic) best case scenario, but it could happen.

I definitely don't plan on watching that game. I'll probably set the recorder just in case however.

Other than the game Smith started mid/late last year, I haven't watched a UK game since about half time of the Central Mich game.

  13. I gotta admit, an egg throwing contest is a good excuse for not watching a UK football game. Nobody'll ever question it.

I just hope TBCF's egg-throwing contest isn't surpassed by an egg-laying contest on the part of the UK football team.

More optimistic, than realistic, in my opinion.

I don't see any of the bellyachers NOT watching the game.

Too good an opportunity to chime in on the day after beyatch fest.

I'll be watching the game, although I still may have access to a friend's season tickets due to the date change. He was beginning a trip on Sunday. All depends if he was able to adjust the schedule without penalty.

Has all the makings of a butt whippin' doesn't it? Am getting ready to send in my season ticket renewal. This is not a good year for home games. But gotta do what ya gotta do. Being optimistic for future years, so will renew. Having 4 tickets, no doubt I'll have seats available for some games. Mine are high but dead on the 50 and I order chairbacks.
