UK Offers 2014 Point Guard Tyus Jones

Last week he landed an offer from Kentucky. I like what he said right here:
“Yes, sir, last week,” he said. “It was a great feeling, especially with them being the national champion. They’re the top school right now. It’s a good feeling and it makes me want to work that much harder.

    Gotta love it!

    The whole story

    Thanks for the post.

Obviously a lot of things can change, but as of right now you have to feel great about Wiggins leading that '14 class for us. As a pg, how would you not want to play with a wing like Wiggins???
    Can't wait for number NINE!

"And Harry doesn't mind if he doesn't make the scene...he's got a daytime job, he's doin' alright!"

Don't forget that backboard-breaker Cliff Alexander '14 from the D Rose All Stars AAU team in Chicago has been saying for a long time that he favors Kentucky.

I've heard the Alexander has two leaders. His leader is Michigan State and his "dream school" is Kentucky. People are saying though Kentucky will be in the driver's seat at the end when he makes his decision. With Reggie Rose involved I say its UK

  5. The Kentucky is his "dream school" comment recently, although widely reported, was not the first time he has talked about Kentucky being his favorite. Cliff Alexander has long said that, before even last season. It was just the first time Michigan State fans and many others noticed.

I saw Tyus Jones at the Nike Peach Jam (see Peach Jam thread for details). I think UK fans would like him. He's a tough hard-nosed player.

  7. I really like what I have seen from PG Tyus Jones. I had been expecting bigger PG Emmanuel Mudiay to probably be UK's top target at PG, but Tyus Jones is looking good and has the offer.

I also like that combo guards like Jaquan Lyle from Evansville has been taking trips to UK recently (his HS coach also coached UK's Julius Mays) and Dakari Johnson's teammate from Louisville, D'Angelo Russell, has high interest in UK too. 2014 will turn out to be a dynamite class.

  8. I also got to see Jones at the Peach Jam. He isn't a "Cal-type" of point guard. Meaning he is looking to distribute. Not necessarily get into the lane with a scoring first mentality like Wall, Knight, Tyreke

He is a stud though. Elite PG

  9. Tyus Jones can score though, 28.1 points per game last year, 55.6 percent from the field, 44.0 percent from 3-point range and 86.6 percent from the free throw line, and I think he led the Peach Jam event in scoring recently.
