Scotty Hopson scored 25 points. 6/7 from three, and he also had 5 assists. But UK did not want him, right?
I'd like to know who said they didn't want Hopson? That would be insane. He has a great talent to score the basketball. His defense is lacking a bit but that is normal for high school players.

I don't know how impressed I am with beating a weak team like UNC Ashville. I mean a blow out is great but it isn't a bit deal since that is what you are suppose to do. UK playing Miami (OH) is only a story since it was close if UK had blown them out I doubt you would have seen anyone on here bragging about it. So, if I were you I would act like I have a good basketball team and move on.

Someone called Hopson a "UK Reject" . Seriously, does anyone know why he was going to go to Miss St. Seemed like an odd choice.

To be brutally honest, enough time has passed that I really don't remember the circumstances surrounding his recruitment, by UK or any other school. I recall Miss State being in the mix somehow, but that's about it.

Stansbury is a good recruiter, and was on him hot and heavy early on during his high school career.

When Hopson was in HS, he had a very selfish attitude and refused to play defense, and his HS coach did nothing about it. There was a guard on his team who was a much better team player. All recuiters knew he was talented, but most were concerned about his childish attitude. Maybe he's grown up.

I would imagine that he was going to Miss St because they were the ones that started recruiting him first and the hardest. That is really the only reason I could see any big recruit picking them. I know like someone else said Stansbury is a good recruiter but they are good what every ten years.

Anyone who could or would call him a UK Reject is just saying that to get under you skin they can't possibly say that and mean it. UK would have LOVED to have him here from a talent standpoint atleast. He did have some attitude issues which could be a reason why other bigger basketball schools stayed away from such a highly rated kid like him with that kind of scoring ability.

I'd most like to see Jon Gruden or Mike Leach (which is a brand new rumor started), but i think Tuberville is the most likely hire as of now. He already says he wants to get back to coaching. I'd be happy with that too, because if you can recruit in the SEC then you can recruit in the Big East.
Be thankful you don't remember the 1970s very colorfully. Egads.

I think Leach is a really solid and underrated coach. And Louisville would be a nicer place to live than Lubbock, I'm sure. But if I had to wager on it, I'd say Tuberville.
