Wall Will Play One Half Friday

Per Cal on his postgame talk with Tom.

Wants to spend the second half getting the guys who are available ready for Morehead State.

I can see the logic in this. It shows we have a coach who is always going to have the teams prepared as best as he can. JW will have ample opportunity to strut his stuff this season.

I can't wait to see him and Bledsoe in the game together. They're going to make a fantastic tandem.

What have I missed? I thought Wall had to sit out 2 games, not a game and a half.

You missed nothing. Calipari is just going to play Wall the first half so he can get the one's eligible to play against Morehead ready for that game. Makes sense to me. Pretty smart too,IMO. We will get to see plenty of Wall before this season is done.

He's out for the first exhibition (Campbellsville) and the first regular season game (Morehead).

He will be available Friday night against Clarion, but Cal says he doesn't want to play him the entire game because he wants the players who will be available for Morehead State to be prepared.

Wall will sit out v Morehead St. The reason for sitting out one half in Friday's exhibition is for preparation for M'St.

The NCAA declared that he has to sit out one exhibition game (last night's game) and the first game of the regular season (Morehead State).

Which means he's eligible to play in the second exhibition on Friday night against Clarion. Cal, however, is only going to play him for the first half, so he can get the players that will be available for the Morehead game (not Wall) more prepared.

After the Morehead game, he will have served his "punishment" and will be ready to go for the remainder of the year. Hope that clears things up for you.

I guess this means that Wall has already paid back the $$$ he was supposed to? Or does he have a time extension on that part?

Makes sense. I'm hoping that the offensive flow is a lot better than it was last night with Wall in there. I'm very anxious to see how him and Bledsoe perform with each other.

Wall has until Friday to pay back the money, apparently he's been saving his Pell Grant money for that very reason.

I really like it when someone goes the extra mile and gives a good answer. Now THATS what we wanted to know.

Hell I'll give him the $757.58, I think he'll be good for it. I can't believe the NCAA made this ruling, you could literally do this to every top 50 player in the nation... Most of these kids are pimped out by their AAU coaches anyways... But we are UK and we have Calipari so we are going to be under the microscope obv.

Not to beat a dead horse because I'm glad John can put this behind him and move on, but the agent/coach in question dealt with a lot of young men. Do EVERY ONE of those players have to go through something similar?

I was thinking the same thing. Did every other player get "investigated" as Wall did?

The answer is supposedly "yes". The kids involved are only ones that played for the coach during Wall's junior year (when he was an agent). Obviously, they also had to accept travel/expenses. The one kid that signed with Duke apparently (correct me if I'm wrong) didn't play for that AAU coach that year.

Coach Calipari gets paid alot of money to make decisions that are in the best intrest of the team.

I bet you 100 pushups John Wall scores at least 18 points and has at least 5 assist in the first half. Any takers?

It doesnt matter if they player for the coach or not. Clifton did not go on any visits with Kelly like he did Wall.
