Myron Pryor shines at the combine

The Cats' Pause's Jeff Drummond just noted that former Kentucky defensive tackle Myron Pryor was "FANTASTIC" at the combine today. A noticeably enthused Drummond even noted that Kentucky just might be getting a reputation as a "defensive tackle" university. :icon_biggrin:

KUDOS to Myon AND to his already respected defensive line coach, Coach Petri. Also, recruits, LISTEN! :icon_biggrin:

from Matt Jones

Former Cat football star Myron Pryor had a great day at the NFL Combine today, running a 40 yard dash in 5.01 seconds, a great time at his position and one that is likely to raise him on a lot of team’s draft boards. In addition, Pryor was the focus of a good portion of the NFL Network’s coverage as he participated in drills that caused a couple of the announcers (one of which I believe sounded like Warren Sapp) to talk about his mobile footwork and his athletic ability. We all know what Pryor can do from his time in Lexington but today was a bit of a coming out party for the big man on a national stage. He really took advantage of it and had a GREAT day for himself as he prepares for the draft.

I'm glad he's getting noticed. We Cat fans, and for that matter the UL Cardinals fans, know how fast he can move down the field

Thanks for sharing, WildcatRick.

Too, as Hanover Cat just noted, we Kentucky fans -- AND Louisville fans -- had already known how FAST Myron can run. The memory of that run still brings a big smile to my face, by the way. :icon_biggrin: Also, that Myron can run that well with his size is just amazing.

Way to go, Myron!

We can't talk about Myron without reliving his "310 Pounds of Glory" Touchdown

Myron has been my main man since his freshman year. Glad to see he's making an impression. I think good things are ahead for him!

Thumbs up

I will NEVER forget that fumble recovery and touch down. I was at the game, and have watched it many times since. Good luck, Myron. You'll be missed at UK, but know you'll have a good career in the NFL.

We could certainly put together a heck of a highlight video from 2008 to make the case that UK is the place to be for defensive linemen.

Me too. One of my sons graduated HS with Myron. As well as the football, while at Eastern HS in Louisville, Myron also set a state power lifting record. He has been a big, strong and hard working guy for a long time.

I hope he moves up the draft charts link big Dwayne did a few years ago and gets a huge payday.

While I wasn't lucky enough to be there, I'm glad you were, Sue. Too, like you, I'll NEVER forget Myron's fumble recovery and touchdown. I was SO HAPPY for Myron -- whom I had had the pleasure to meet at Fan Day his sophomore year, along with the other defensive linemen who don't get nearly enough recognition, although Myron (similar to Ventrell Jenkins after his touchdown return during the Liberty Bowl) surely did so after that play that means he will NEVER be forgotten by Kentucky fans. :icon_biggrin: By the way, my first thought had been how happy his grandmother, who would faithfully attend the Cat Walks for her grandon, must have been! Yes, GOOD LUCK, Myron.

I'd also love to see UK land another good player from Eastern. Myron was a good one. I wish Eastern's Jarrod Hayden had gone to UK instead of Tennessee a few years back.
