CBS Coverage Map for UK/ETSU

Here's the coverage map for the UK/ETSU game. You folks that live in the northern Kentucky/Cincy area better get on the phone to your local CBS station. As of now they are scheduled to show the Georgetown/Ohio game.
I live in the DC area so I'm getting the GTown game no matter what.

They are showing the UNLV/Northern Iowa game here?

Who gives a rats a$$ about that game?

I am pissed!

Just sent my local provider an e-mail about this. Man, we'll be FUR-I-OUS if we can't get this game!

Of course they are. UNI plays in the Missouri Valley Conference. Where's the conference headquarters? St. Louis.

Literally no one in STL gives a crap about Northern Iowa or the Valley Conference unless MO St or SIU are playing in it.

I don't doubt that, but honestly, if I'm just Joe College Hoops fan and don't have a rooting interest for any of the schools playing in that time slot, I want to see the UNI/UNLV game. Should be a good matchup.

Constant means that CBS won't switch your game at all. No chance.

Main means that you'll get your game unless it's a blowout and they want to switch to a closer contest. They also break in for some "bonus coverage" of other games every once in a while.

If you're in Red on this map then you'll see the UK game, rest assured.

I think "Main" means that for the most part, that's the game you'll be seeing in that region. There will be times when they send you to other games.

"Constant" means they will pretty much never switch you out to another game unless its down to the buzzer.

that's at least my interpretation.

All my family lives in NKY but I live in Louisville now. They're going to be LIVID if the UK game isn't shown there. That's baffling to me since there are SO MANY UK fans in that area

I would assume (and we all know what that does) that "main" just means that is the main game that will be shown in an area. And if it become a blowout and another game is considered more desirable, it will switch.

I would assume "constant" would mean the game will be shown constantly regardless of what might happen - like the UK game will be in the Lexington area.

Whew! Looks like I got out of DC just in time....down here they're showing the Cats. I used to hate having to endure the Big East (or ACC) when the Cats were on.

FWIW, the game will be on at Grevey's, in Falls Church.

Don't worry. Channel 12 knows how their bread is buttered.

What it means is if we get up by ten points, we'll never see another minute of the game.

Grrr ... (that's what I get for moving away from Lex).

Exclamation

Many cable companies are offering all the other (non-main) games on special channels setup just for the tourney, so if UK isn't the main game in your area call your cable company. Here in NC I know Time-Warner will show every single game and Suddenlink will be doing the same for us in Greenville, although I'm not sure that we'll get the "constant" feed for all the games.

Yea I'm stuck with Gtown game as a constant. I'm hoping they will have a power outage or something like that at Gtown's site.

If you get CBS College Sports they will be replaying all the NCAA tournament games next week. So you can them for the first time or watch the games again that way.

For all of you that live outside the viewing area like I do. DirecTV has a NCAA Mega March Madness package. You can see every game in its entirety live and in HD. Kentucky's game on Thursday night is on channel 703.

If you like Sports .......DirecTV is the only way to go.

Oh...and check out the Coach Cal video at the bottom of the web page.

I would NOT want to be working at WOWK 13 in Huntington if they don't show Kentucky, which seems to be what that map suggests.

FYI for Greater Cincinnati/NKY Wildcat Fans

Below is the prompt reply from WKRC's Darren McCullah:

Quote:
The Kentucky game will be on WKRC, and the Ohio game will be on our CW network.

CBs originally wanted to give us Ohio but we requested the change. They haven’t updated their map yet.
